29 May WHAT LENGTH OF ARTIFICIAL GRASS IS RIGHT FOR YOU?
Yes, artificial grass comes in different lengths.
Why, you ask?
Well, dependent on the reason you want the synthetic grass for, i.e. for aesthetic reasons, and in that, is it outside, inside, has high or low traffic? Practical reasons, i.e. landscape turf. And, commercial reasons, i.e. putting green, soccer pitch, or any sport field.
So, let’s break that down.
Where there will be no real traffic and the grass will be mostly just to look at, you can go with longer length. A quick maintenance to perk it up on a regular basis and it’s good to go.
Where there is other plant life, trees, possibly real grass, rockeries, paving, pots, etc, etc, you want to be aiming for a medium length height. Too long and your grass will overlap other items. Too short and it will scarcely be visible amongst the rest of your additions.
If you consider adding a little putting green in your backyard, then you’re looking at quite short. Dependent on whether you are a pro or not, the length can affect how your ball travels. Chat to us about your needs here first.
When it comes to play areas and sports fields, you want some cushioning, but not too long either. For easy play and softness on falls, we pack the base real nice and allow for a little more fullness and length.
As an overall thought and suggestion, you don’t ever want to be cutting your artificial grass yourself. Maybe you had it installed, or you decided to install it yourself, at a certain length that made sense at the time. Then, a week later you sat and looked at the creation, and you just were not feeling it.
Whatever you do, please do not cut it yourself. Taking a scissors or (faint) a lawnmower to your artificial grass, will in two words – ruin it! And we are sure you didn’t spend your good money to be throwing it away on a whim like that. It’s like trying to cut your own hair. It never turns out right – EVER!
